MANUEL PULCINI IS A YOUNG, AUDACIOUS WINEMAKER FROM LUCCA, TUSCANY, WORKING ABOUT 3 HECTARES OF VINEYARDS BETWEEN LUCCA AND PISA. GROWING UP ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF ROME, HE WORKED IN HIS PARENTS SMALL WINERY, AND AFTER ATTENDING OENOLOGY SCHOOL IN PISA, MANUEL TURNED HIS ATTENTION TO BIODYNAMIC WINEMAKING AND BEGAN THE CHALLENGING TASK OF RESTORING ABANDONED VINEYARDS. MANUEL WORKS WITH MINIMAL INTERVENTION TO MALE WINES THAT HONOR THE ANCIENT VITICULTURAL TRADITION OF TUSCANY. HIS DEDICATION TO THESE PRACTICES HAS EARNED HIM RESPECT AND SUPPORT FROM THE REGION’S ELDERS, WHO AFFECTIONATELY CALL HIM “AMICO DEI NONNI” OR FRIEND OF THE GRANDPAS. MANUEL HAS ALSO HONED HIS SKILLS BY WORKING FOR SEVERAL RESPECTED TUSCAN WINERIES, INCLUDING A NOTABLE STINT UNDER CIPRIANO BARSANTI AT MACEA. MANUEL VIEWS HIMSELF AS A BRIDGE BETWEEN GENERATIONS, UPHOLDING TRADITIONAL PRACTICES AND FOSTERING A DEEP RESPECT FOR THE LAND.
