THE FARM WAS BUILT IN 1965, BEFORE THE RUSH TO MAKE FRANCIACORTA HYPER-PRODUCTIVE LED PRODUCERS TO PLANT VINEYARDS ON EASY-TO-FARM FLAT LAND, AS OPPOSED TO PLANTING ON STEEP SLOPES THAT, WHILE ENSURING HIGHER QUALITY, ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO FARM MECHANICALLY. MATTIA’S OLDEST VINES ARE AROUND 60 YEARS OLD, FROM THE ORIGINAL PLANTINGS, AND OTHERS ARE 30 YEARS OLD. HIS WORK IS ALL MANUAL, FROM TENDING TO THE VINES, TO HARVEST, TO DEGORGING AND EVEN LABELING.
