INFORMATION

THE BOMBETTI FAMILY HAS RUN A 3-HECTARE FARM NESTLED IN THE VILLAGE OF VELLETRI WITHIN THE CASTELLI ROMANI AREA 40 KM SOUTHEAST OF ROME FOR OVER A CENTURY. SERGIO BOMBETTI LEARNT THE ART OF WINEMAKING FROM HIS FATHER BUT INITIALLY SOLD HIS GRAPES AND ONLY MADE WINE FOR FAMILY CONSUMPTION. IN 2018, TOGETHER WITH HIS SON PAOLO, HE STARTED COLLEFORMICA TO HONOR THE RICH HISTORY OF THEIR LAND AND THE WINES OF THEIR REGION. THEIR VINES COVER 2 OF THEIR 3 HECTARES, WHILE THE REMAINING HECTARE IS DIVIDED BETWEEN 150 YEAR OLD OLIVE TREES, FRUIT TREES, AND THE FAMILY’S VEGETABLE GARDEN. THE VINEYARDS SIT AT 300M IN ELEVATION AND ARE PLANTED ON VOLCANIC SOIL WITH MALVASIA DI CANDIA, TREBBIANO, SANGIOVESE, AND A SMALL PLOT OF PRIMITIVO. FROM THOSE GRAPES THEY MAKE AN EXCITING RANGE OF SPARKLING WINES, A FEW WHITE/SKIN CONTACT WINES, AND SOME FRESH RED WINES.
