AFTER MORE THAN 15 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THE WINE WORLD, DAVIDE XODO OPENED A SMALL WINERY IN THE HILLS BY HIS HOME, WHERE HE PRODUCES WINES HIS OWN WAY. IN 2018 HE BEGAN BY RENTING AND REVITALIZING THE CELLAR AND VINEYARDS OF EMIDO PIVA, A WELL-RESPECTED PRODUCER IN THE AREA OF NANTO, IN THE PROVINCE OF VICENZA. THE WINERY IS LOCATED ON THE EASTERN SIDE OF THE BERICI HILLS, WHERE THE SOILS ARE RICH IN LIMESTONE, SILT AND CLAY. DAVIDE WORKS OVER 3.5 HECTARES OF VINEYARDS, DIVIDED INTO 8 SMALL PARCELS INTERSPERSED BY ONE HECTARE OF WOODS, OLIVE TREES AND FRUIT TREES. LOOKING FOR THE IDEAL BALANCE BETWEEN THE VINES AND THE SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT, DAVIDE FARMS ORGANICALLY, RESPECTING THE LAND AND THE PEOPLE THAT WORK IT. DAVIDE AIMS TO MAKE WINES THAT SHOWCASE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE DIFFERENT GRAPE VARIETIES HE WORKS WITH: TAI ROSSO, MERLOT, SYRAH, CABERNET FRANC AND SAUVIGNON, CARMENÉRE, GARGANEGA, PINOT BIANCO, TAI BIANCO AND MALVASIA ISTRIANA. IN THE CELLAR, DAVIDE WORKS WITH MINIMAL INTERVENTION AND INDIGENOUS YEASTS, IN ORDER TO PRODUCE UNIQUE WINES.
