INFORMATION

DAVIDE BENTIVEGNA RETURNED TO HIS ROOTS IN CATANIA IN 2008 AND BEGAN MAKING WINE OFF OF A FEW PARCELS ON THE STEEP SLOPES OF MOUNT ETNA. OVER THE YEARS, HE ACQUIRED MORE VINEYARDS LOCATED IN DIFFERENT ‘CONTRADE’ (OR SUB-ZONES) OF ETNA, EACH WITH THEIR UNIQUE TERROIRS. THE VINES, ALL FARMED ORGANICALLY, ARE TRAINED IN THE ANCIENT ALBERELLO STYLE AND PLANTED ON TERRACED LAND. IN THE CELLAR, DAVIDE WORKS WITH SPONTANEOUS FERMENTATIONS AND MINIMAL INTERVENTION, ADHERING TO LOW SULFITE LEVELS AND MINIMAL FILTRATION. THE RESULT IS A RANGE OF WINES THAT SHOWCASE THE DIVERSE EXPRESSIONS OF ETNA'S VOLCANIC TERROIR.
