INFORMATION

DAVIDE BENTIVEGNA EMBARKED ON HIS AGRICULTURAL JOURNEY IN 2008, RETURNING TO HIS ROOTS ON THE HILLS OUTSIDE CATANIA AND STARTING HIS WINEMAKING PROJECT ON MOUNT ETNA. HE EXPANDED OVER THE YEARS BY ACQUIRING MORE VINEYARDS AND LAND, FOLLOWING AN ORGANIC FARMING APPROACH AND NATURAL WINEMAKING PRINCIPLES. THE VINEYARDS ARE LOCATED IN DIFFERENT ‘CONTRADE’ OR SUB-ZONES OF ETNA, EACH EXPRESSING UNIQUE TERROIR CHARACTERISTICS. THE VINES ARE TRAINED IN THE ANCIENT ALBERELLO STYLE AND PLANTED ON TERRACED LAND. DAVIDE AND HIS TEAM WORK WITH MINIMAL INTERVENTION, FERMENTING THE GRAPES WITH INDIGENOUS YEASTS AND ADHERING TO LOW SULFITE LEVELS AND MINIMAL FILTRATION. THE RESULT IS A RANGE OF WINES THAT SHOWCASE THE DIVERSE EXPRESSIONS OF ETNA'S VOLCANIC TERROIR.
